We support the principles of NHS England's Sexual Safety in Healthcare Organisational Charter and are committed to taking a zero-tolerance approach to any form of sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, abuse, assault, exploitation, intimidation, discrimination, or unwanted sexual behaviour.

We believe that everyone has the right to receive, provide, and support healthcare in an environment that is safe, dignified, and free from inappropriate behaviour. 

To achieve this, we will:

• Promote a culture of openness, respect, and professionalism where concerns can be raised without fear of blame or retaliation. 
• Actively work to prevent sexual harassment, abuse, and misconduct in all areas of our practice.
• Ensure that patients and staff are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect at all times. 
• Provide clear and accessible routes for reporting concerns, incidents, or allegations relating to sexual safety. 
• Take all reports seriously and respond promptly, fairly, sensitively, and appropriately. 
• Support those affected by inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour and signpost them to appropriate sources of help and advice. 
• Ensure staff receive appropriate training in safeguarding, professional boundaries, and sexual safety awareness. 
• Offer chaperones for intimate examinations in accordance with national guidance and practice policy.
• Work to safeguard children and adults at risk and fulfil our statutory safeguarding responsibilities. 
• Take appropriate action where standards of behaviour fall below those expected within our practice. 
• Review concerns, incidents, and feedback to support learning and continuous improvement. 

Raising a Concern

If you experience, witness, or become aware of behaviour that causes concern regarding sexual safety, please speak to a member of our team, the Practice Manager, or use our complaints procedure.

All concerns will be handled confidentially, respectfully, and in accordance with our safeguarding, complaints, and staff conduct policies. Where required, concerns may be referred to external agencies, professional regulators, safeguarding teams, or the police.
